In Shopify, a collection template is a type of template that controls the layout and presentation of collection pages on your online store. Collection templates determine how products within a specific collection are displayed and organized. These templates are essential for customizing the appearance and user experience of your store’s collection pages, allowing you to create a consistent and visually appealing presentation for your products.

Understanding Shopify Collection Templates

Theme comes with pre-defined collection layout that will be used when there is custom collection layout available. This layout defines how the product details & contents to be shown in the collection pages.

Customizing Product Templates

Collection template has two dedicated sections to display product details & information effectively.

  1. Collection Header
  2. Main Collection Grid

Collection Header

Every collection template has Collection header section at the top by default. you can use this section to display Collection title or cover. Also you can able to delete this section completely and add your own cover or titles as per your wish

Below are the main settings for the collection header

Along with above settings, this section also includes common section settings to control basic width & spacing.

Main Collection Grid

This is essential section for displaying collection of products. It have an option to enable/disable filters & sorting dropdown. You can find the option to show/hide price, quickview, badge from Theme settings
